Camden, Delaware (December 17, 2013)—Janet Reed, owner of Camden Dairy Queen, partnered with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) last Saturday and Sunday, December 14th and 15th to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. At the Camden Dairy Queen, located on South Dupont Highway, staff and families gathered together for a day of fun with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and their elves. Kids enjoyed ice cream and cookie decorating crafts. The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition was the charity of choice in this “FUN”draising effort.
Janet has hosted an annual event at Camden Dairy Queen around Christmas for the past seven years. She enjoys giving back to her community. In exchange for a surprise gift bag, customers and the public were invited to give a donation to support a local cause. Gift bags featured a small toy, pink candy and a chance to win a bigger prize.
Volunteers and staff from the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition gave out pamphlets and information on breast health and programs for breast cancer survivors and those newly diagnosed. Children were treated to coloring books and crayons. DBCC staff was introduced to many new breast cancer survivors. Donations are still being accepted.
