DBCC to Present a Designer Bridal Gown Sale March 2 - 4; Over 850 Gowns for Sale

NEW CASTLE, DE (January 6, 2012)—The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) is pleased to announce that it will present a Designer Bridal Gown Sale on March 2, 3 & 4 at the Sheraton Wilmington South Hotel. This unique event will feature over 850 bridal gowns for sale at drastically discounted prices with all proceeds benefiting DBCC’s programs and services in Delaware and the surrounding communities.
The gowns come from top wedding gown designers and prices start at just $100. The sale will also include couture and exclusive designer wedding gowns valued up to $20,000, which will be sold at a fraction of their original retail prices. Gowns are of assorted styles and range from sizes 2 to 32. Bridal accessories including veils, tiaras and slips will also be available.
The Designer Bridal Gown Sale will be held at the brand new Sheraton Wilmington South Hotel located on Airport Road in New Castle and visible and easily accessible from I-95. The hotel management generously donated the space for the event. The hotel, which opened in December 2011, has 192 rooms and suites, a striking hotel lobby with bar, and the Wilmington Grille restaurant. Wedding professionals, including a photographer, videographer, salon, bakery, travel agency, florist and more, will be present at the event. In addition, Sheraton Wilmington South Hotel will be offering a package upgrade to any bride who books her wedding at the hotel. Tours of the hotel will be available throughout the sale. The Sheraton will also be offering special room rates for brides and guests who would like to stay overnight during the bridal gown sale.
The event will kick off with an Exclusive Preview Sale on Friday, March 2 from 4 to 8 pm. Advance online registration is required at www.debreastcancer.org/brides. The cost is $20 for the bride and one guest with additional tickets available for $15. The event will be free and open to the public on Saturday, March 3 (9 am – 6 pm) and Sunday, March 4 (11 am – 4 pm) with special pricing on Sunday. Free self-parking will be available at the hotel. “DBCC’s Designer Bridal Gown Sale is truly a community effort,” explains Vicky Cooke, DBCC’s Executive Director. “Designers, bridal shops and individuals from across the country have donated wedding gowns to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.”
“And in Delaware the community support is phenomenal,” Cooke continues. “From the new Sheraton donating their space to Pettinaro Management, LLC donating storage space for the gowns to the Wilmington Blue Rocks staff helping to unload the gowns to hundreds of volunteers, many hands have helped make this sale a reality. We know that weddings can be very expensive and with this event, brides will be able to save money on their bridal gowns and fight breast cancer at the same time.”
The funds raised through this sale will be used to expand DBCC’s programs in Delaware and the surrounding communities to increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms and support and resources to women and men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
