DOVER, DE (November 30, 2017)—The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) is pleased to announce the Lights of Life gala will take place on Saturday, February 24th, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware. This year’s 70’s themed celebration “Light of Lights Goes Disco Nights” will be an evening of living and giving in support of those affected by breast cancer. Lights of Life is Delaware’s premier breast cancer fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting DBCC’s programs and services in the local community. Through fundraising efforts, in FY 2017 DBCC proudly served nearly 4,000 women and men in Delaware, provided over 1,000 mammograms through the Women’s Mobile Health Screening program, and served over 150 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.

This year’s gala will be co-Chaired by Amy Strickland and Dominique Picott. For the first time, two levels of tickets will be offered, the V.I.P. solid gold experience for $125.00 per person; and silver mirror ball dessert & dancing for $50.00 per person. The V.I.P. experience will take place from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. and includes admission, access to silent and live auctions, fashion show, open bar, dinner, dessert and dancing. The silver mirror ball ticket will be offered from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. and includes access to the fashion show, auction, two drinks and dancing. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Un33k from Spinjocs Entertainment. The fashion show will feature local breast cancer survivors. The live auction will feature wonderful trips, experiences, and many items you cannot find in stores. Various levels of sponsorship opportunities are available, beginning at $500.

“This year’s Lights of Life gala will be a celebration in support of survivorship and in remembrance of those we’ve lost to breast cancer,” noted Amy Strickland and Dominique Picott, co-chairs of the 2018 Lights of Life Gala. “We are looking forward to this signature event which brings together survivors, community members, healthcare providers, and friends of the agency for a magical evening. The funds raised at Lights of Life empower DBCC to deliver on its mission and improve the lives of women in Delaware and beyond.”

The funds raised at the 2017 Lights of Life gala were used to support breast cancer programs in Delaware which increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms, cervical screenings, and bilingual health navigators, and deliver support and resources to women and men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

This event has sold out in previous years.  To make reservations online, please visit  For information about sponsorships, advertising, and item donation, please contact Eliza Mohler at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 302-778-1102.

About DBCC:

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization offering statewide programs and services of education, outreach, and early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Its vision is to create a community where every person diagnosed with breast cancer is a survivor, and fear and doubt are replaced with knowledge and hope.

Headquartered in Wilmington with offices in Sussex and Kent Counties, DBCC’s programs reach diverse communities to deliver messages that address their unique concerns about breast cancer and early detection. Recognizing the barriers of language, culture, and economics, DBCC trains community advocates to educate and encourage women to take responsibility for their own breast health. DBCC helps women with low incomes or those with little or no insurance to receive free or reduced-cost care.

DBCC also supports the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s advocacy efforts to end breast cancer.  All funds raised for DBCC stay local to support programs in Delaware and the neighboring areas in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.
