MILFORD, DE (October 24, 2017) –The students of McAleer School of Irish Dance held a fundraiser for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition on Sunday, Oct 22 at Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. The students were ages 6 through 13 and the mothers organized the event through admission donations, a Chinese auction and a bake sale. The total donation was over $1,000. The funds will be used to expand DBCC’s programs in the local community which increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms, and provide support and resources to women and men who have been diagnosed or facing a recurrence with breast cancer.

The School of Irish Dance has studios in New Castle County and Lewes. For more information, please visit http://www.docairde.com. For more information about the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc., please visit http://www.debreastcancer.org.

About DBCC:

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization offering statewide programs of education, outreach, and support services to promote the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Its vision is to create a community where every person diagnosed with breast cancer is a survivor, and fear and doubt are replaced with knowledge and hope.

Headquartered in Wilmington with offices in Sussex and Kent Counties, DBCC’s programs reach diverse communities to deliver messages that address their unique concerns about breast cancer and early detection. Recognizing the barriers of language, culture, and economics, DBCC trains community advocates to educate and encourage women to take responsibility for breast health. DBCC helps women with low incomes or those with little or no insurance to receive free or reduced-cost care.
DBCC also supports the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s advocacy efforts to end breast cancer.  All funds raised for DBCC support programs in Delaware and the neighboring areas in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.
