Go Pink! 2018
For the thirteenth year in a row, Bayhealth will host its highly anticipated annual Go Pink! awareness campaign and fundraiser.
Together with community partner Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC), the organizations sell Go Pink! t-shirts, available for purchase online at bayhealthfoundation.org through Sept. 19. Go Pink! t-shirts may be purchased through Oct. 2 in the Retail Shops at Bayhealth Kent General and Reflections Gift Shop at Milford Memorial, and through DBCC. T-shirts are $10 each and are available in six adult and three children’s sizes.
Proceeds from Go Pink! are divided between breast screenings and education programs available through Bayhealth and the DBCC. In 2017, Go Pink! t-shirt sales raised more than $28,000 and approximately 4,600 shirts were sold.
Bayhealth employees are encouraged to wear their t-shirts on Oct. 2 to support this cause. Participation from the community is welcomed and encouraged. In previous years, local business and schools have supported Go Pink! by participating as groups.
The Go Pink! awareness campaign will conclude with the 10th Annual Go Pink! Health Fair on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held in the parking lot of the Bayhealth Medical Office Building, located at 540 S. Governors Avenue, Dover, Del., opposite Spence’s Bazaar. Petch and Amy from Eagle 97.7 FM will do a live remote on site broadcast from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Go Pink! Health Fair features free clinical breast exams, information on available cancer screenings, treatment and survivorship programs; health education opportunities; and a bake sale. Free screening mammograms will be available to women who are uninsured and underinsured. Contact Harriet Pinkston at 302-430-5143 to pre-register for free mammograms.
