Draw Write Doodle Dream Survivor’s Social – An art and journaling workshop with Nanci Hersh

Calling all breast cancer survivors for a Survivor’s Social: Draw Write Doodle Dream – An art and journaling workshop with Nanci Hersh on April 28, 2015 from 5:30—7:30 pm at Anna P. Mote Elementary School in Wilmington. The event is $18.00 per person.

Whether blank pages inspire or intimidate you, this workshop will engage you with the joys of journaling. Using a variety of image-making techniques such as collage, image transfer, and stamping to personalize our journals we will create a sacred space to hold our doodles, dreams and heart’s ruminations. We will also be working with writing prompts to get the juice’s flowing. No experience necessary. Materials are included but feel free to bring photographs or photocopies, your own collage elements or favorite stamps. Nanci is a professional and teaching artist and the illustrator and co-creator of the award winning children’s book Butterfly Kisses and Wishes on Wings: when someone you love has cancer… a hopeful, helpful book for kids. Mother’s Day at Woodside Farm Creamery - Hockessin

5th Annual Women’s Race for the Pink Ribbon 5K at the Wilmington Riverfront

Please join us for ‘Ladies’ Night Out’, the 5th Annual Women’s Race for the Pink Ribbon 5K! The race registration opens at 5:00pm and the race starts at 6:30pm. Help raise funds for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition to provide hope and support for those living with breast cancer.

The race features women’s fit performance tech tee for the first 700 registered & goodie bag, Post race refreshments with music, wine garden & beer for those 21 years of age and older, Digital clocks at miles 1 & 2, and Pre and post race massages by Therapeutic Massage and Wellness.

Awards will also be distributed to top performers including running shoes to overall winner and 1st place age group winners, gift cards to Women’s Sports Specialties to 2nd & 3rd place age group winners, awards to overall winners and masters winner, awards to top 3 in 5 year age groups 9 & under through 75 & over and awards to top 3 teams.
