Oxford Feed & Lumber’s Pink 50 Poker Prance

October 09, 2016

A perennial favorite fall event, Oxford Feed & Lumber’s Pink Poker Prance, slated for Sunday, October 9, will depart from a different location at Fair Hill this year.  Participants will park at the Appleton Road parking lot (2941 Appleton Rd., Elkton, MD 21921).  In addition, all riders must register in advance of the event and select their ride time. Once again, Pink Poker Prance benefits local breast cancer coalitions and many of the participants dress themselves and their horses for the occasion.  Although it is voluntary, five prizes are awarded for “the best pink” horse and rider combinations.  While this is a fun part of the day, we ask that participants please omit feathers or other items that may fall off during the ride and litter beautiful Fair Hill Nature Center. Prizes are also given to the top five poker hands – riders collect cards along the route. Lunch is included in the $35 registration fee as is a commemorative t-shirt and halter.  Everyone will have a final opportunity to purchase tickets for the incredible themed raffle baskets.  The baskets will be on display and tickets can be purchased leading up to Poker Prance at the store. Riders can register at Oxford Feed & Lumber, 112 Railroad Ave., Oxford or by phone, 610-932-8521.  The earliest registrants will have the best choice of ride times.
