Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Receives Holiday Gift of More than $90,000 from Tanger Outlet Center
Wilmington, DE (December 10, 2009) – The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. (DBCC) received a gift check, this holiday season, from the Tanger Outlet Center in Rehoboth Beach, DE in the amount of $90,976.96. The donation is from funds raised during the month-long Tanger Pink Card campaign which ran through October 20th as part of Tanger’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to the Tanger family, the merchants at Tanger Outlets, and to the individual shoppers,” says Vicky Cooke, DBCC executive director, “because each one dollar donation really can – and does – make a difference in the lives of others. Their donations will help people right here in Delaware in the fight against breast cancer.”
The funds DBCC received were raised one dollar at a time as Tanger customers made $1 donations to receive a special pink discount card (good for 25% off a single item at participating Tanger stores) and will support local programs, services and clinical trial initiatives. The Pink Card program is now in its 4th successful year at Tanger Outlet Centers coast to coast. Since 1994, Tanger Outlet Centers have raised and donated $7.5 million dollars to breast cancer organizations through the Stanley K. Tanger Breast Cancer Fund.
