Harvest Festival at the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail (month long)

Throughout the month of October, Kreutz Creek Vineyards, Paradocx Vineyard, and Patone Cellars have partnered with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and will be donating $1 to the agency from the purchase of select bottles of wine.  In addition, on October 4, Kreutz Creek and Paradocx will be hosting a grape stomping.  Paradocx is at 2:00p and Kreutz Creek is at 3:00p.  Patrons pay a minimum of $5 to stomp and all the donations come to DBCC.

Planting the S.E.E.D. Flower Pot Painting Party

Join the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition for a Flower Pot Painting Party on November 1st from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Help raise money for the Planting the S.E.E.D. initiative by painting flower pots. Your $10 registration fee will provide you with a pot, craft painting supplies, and help the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition provide free breast health information and services to women in need.

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition invites you to attend a “Peer Mentor” Training in New Castle County. If You Are a Breast Cancer Survivor and Would Like to Give Back and Offer Support to Women Who Are Newly Diagnosed, Please Join us to Become a Peer Mentor! If you are already a Peer Mentor and would like a refresher course…please join us on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5:15 pm to 8:30 pm. A light dinner will be provided. The program will be held at the the University of Delaware Human Performance Lab in Newark, DE. The building part of the College of Health Sciences and is located behind the Rust Ice Arena off of Rt 896.  Parking is free after 5:00 pm.

Body and Soul Fitness and Spa 1st Annual Turkey Trot

Please come out or the 1st Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at 9 a.m. (Rain or Shine) for a fabulous event at West Seaford Elementary School. Awards will be presented in many categories and tee shirts will be available for all participants. Post race festivities includes free food and beverage. The 5K run/walk is a 2 loop course on paved roads and is very flat and fast! The proceeds will benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s Bosom Buddy Fund that provides free wigs, hats, scarves, and bra prosthetics to breast cancer survivors in need.

18th Annual Breast Cancer Update

Save the date for the 18th Annual Breast Cancer Update to be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Each spring, DBCC presents a symposium featuring leading medical experts and other speakers discussing the most current topics in breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, detection and survivorship. The annual one-day educational forum is free and open to the public, and has become one of Delaware’s most trusted sources of up-to date breast cancer information. More information coming soon.


DBCC is excited to present a excellent roster of speakers to address breast cancer treatment and survivorship. This year’s program reviews recent trends and advances in breast cancer treatment, and focuses on options for breast reconstruction. The in-depth review of breast reconstruction options includes not only the surgical techniques, but also outcomes as viewed both clinically and by women who have experienced the long-term outcomes of these options. Self-image, sexuality and health are all part of the presentations, and provide a holistic, patient-centered understanding to clinicians, as well as supporting the education of breast cancer survivors and the newly-diagnosed.

Certificates of attendance documenting 4.5 Contact Hours and .45 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) will be available to Nurses and other healthcare professionals. Corexcel is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Corexcel has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, suite 500, McLean, VA 22102.

The event is FREE to attend. Registration for contact hours or CEUs is $30.

6th Annual DE-feet Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk at the Tanger Outlet Center - Rehoboth Beach, Seaside
