Peer Mentor Support Program
The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Peer Mentor Support Program provides free one-on-one support and education to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. When you are diagnosed with breast cancer, it is often helpful to speak with someone who is a survivor and who has been through a similar breast cancer journey.
DBCC Peer Mentors are trained breast cancer survivors who wish to reach out to help and support others with breast cancer. We have a large network of young breast cancer survivors eager and willing to help other young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.
The DBCC has taken on a key role in providing education about clinical trials to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. DBCC Peer Mentors are prepared to help newly diagnosed breast cancer patients understand why clinical trials are important, how they work, how they advance cancer care and research, and how participants are protected.
If you are newly diagnosed, are currently in treatment, are experiencing a recurrence, or are a long- term survivor who needs someone to talk to, our Peer Mentors are here to help you. They can also offer support to spouses, partners, family members and caregivers.
Help and Support are just a phone call away.
