The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) recently announced its upcoming “In the Loop: An Education Series” event, focusing on the issue of “The Financial Toxicity of Breast Cancer.” The informative session will feature Courtney Jones, senior director of case management for the Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), and will take place on Thursday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
“Financial toxicity” — the term used to describe the significant financial burdens faced by cancer patients and their families due to treatment costs — is a pressing concern for those navigating a breast cancer diagnosis, DBCC representatives said. The free event aims to provide attendees with insights and resources to help alleviate that burden.
Jones, a professional with more than 20 years of experience at the Patient Advocate Foundation, will lead the discussion. In her role as senior director of case management, she oversees all aspects of the case management department, ensuring quality service and compliance with contractual obligations. Her experience includes developing quality assurance standards, enhancing operational efficiency and co-authoring numerous publications.
“As a senior director with a deep passion for empowering others, I am honored to share insights that can help transform the breast cancer journey,” she said. “My mission is to provide not only knowledge but also practical tools to navigate this challenging experience. Personally, this cause is incredibly important to me because I’ve seen firsthand how the right support, education, and resources can make a profound difference in outcomes and quality of life.”
