Save the Date for the Breast Cancer Update

The 13th Annual Breast Cancer Update is set for April 28 at the conference center at Delaware Technical Community College in Dover, featuring special guest speaker Kelly Corrigan, author of the New York Times best-selling book The Middle Place and the soon-to-be-released book Lift (due March 2010).

The Breast Cancer Update is one of many ways that DBCC uses its funds locally to benefit and serve the people of Delaware and its surrounding communities. This annual one-day educational forum is free and open to the public and has become one of Delaware’s most trusted sources of up-to-date breast cancer information. The event features discussions by panels of breast cancer experts and attracts crowds of physicians, nurses, breast cancer survivors and advocates each year.

The entertainment lineup showcases “Women in Music” with musical acts featuring outstanding female artists including Niki Barr, Deanna Bogart Band, Nothin but Trouble with Salli Fulkerson-Saunders, Hyjinx, SemiBlind, Gretchen Emery & The Dirty Boots Dance Band, and the winner of WZBH’s “Local Produce” contest.  Dana Fuchs will be the headliner.
Beneficiaries for the event include the Kent County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
