Peer Mentor Support For Breast Cancer
Our unique Peer Mentor Support for Breast Cancer provides breast cancer survivors who are ready to help others with the critical education and training required to become a DBCC Certified Peer Mentor. Once certified, Peer Mentors are matched as closely as possible with someone newly diagnosed at a similar age with a similar diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and lifestyle. DBCC Peer Mentors then provide free one-on-one personalized support.
Breast Care Assistance Fund
The Breast Care Assistance Fund is a critical service that DBCC is proud to offer, established to provide emergency funding and support to residents of Delaware undergoing treatment for breast cancer and facing financial barriers. The fund offers assistance for basic household bills and living expenses including mortgage/rent, utilities, and childcare, along with transportation, medical expenses, respite care, and survivorship services. More than 125 women have received direct financial assistance, totaling almost $200,000 in support.

Nurture with Nature
The great outdoors provides a backdrop for camaraderie and support! The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s Nurture with Nature provides a fun way for survivors to connect and relieve stress. The Nurture with Nature series allows women to come together and experience nature by hiking, kayaking, biking, horseback riding, astronomy, or simply walking through a forest or along a beach. Outings occur approximately once a month throughout all of Delaware. During the winter months, we host craft events such as basket and jewelry making.
We welcome all who are newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, experiencing a recurrence, or a long term survivor to join us in our Nurture with Nature series.
